Debby Gayton has retired from breeding Shetland Sheepdogs and has granted us permission to redirect her Wintercreek Shelties kennel name to our website, RavenWyn Farms.

We are grateful and honored that Debby has entrusted us to carry forward some of her pedigrees, and we look to our kennel’s future with her continued friendship and guidance.  We dedicate this page to the work that the Gaytons accomplished while devoting many long hours to the fancy.

The Wintercreek Name

Wintercreek Shelties followed their lifelong dream of living in the country while raising and showing Shetland Sheepdogs in the rural suburbs of Portland, Oregon.  They found three beautiful grass covered acres complete with rolling hills and pastoral views. A quiet, peaceful place to let their Shelties run and play.  As they approached the first Oregon winter at their previous home, a small creek developed on their property. Thus, this is when the name “Wintercreek” was born.

Wintercreek Dogs

Wintercreek Shelties has bred not only beautiful dogs for conformation, but also for performance venues such as Obedience, Agility, Rally and trick competitions.  Below are just a few of the Wintercreek dogs that have contributed to many pedigrees you will find around the U.S.

Debby has a designer’s eye and as a talented photographer has been able to capture the true beauty of the Shetland Sheepdog. She has taken most of the photos you see above.

Wintercreek Club Affiliations

Debby still enjoys mentoring others in the breed, including ourselves.  She is an active board member of the Pacific Northwest Shetland Sheepdog Club (PNWSSC) and is a member the American Shetland Sheepdog Association (ASSA).  She joins in fund raising for Sheltie Rescue and participates in local education for new and continuing Shetland Sheepdog owners.
